Founded in 1995, the Rotary Club of Leawood, Kansas, is a service club committed to the spirit of Rotary and the embodiment of Rotary's international motto of "Service Above Self". The members of the club are business leaders representing a host of professions, who seek to give back to the community through service projects and financial support. The welfare of children is a primary focus of the club's efforts, and all proceeds raised from this 5K Rotary Run event will go toward funding of several children's charities through the club's foundation entitled "ACT: A Child's Tomorrow."
